I'm back!

The most beautiful muse in the world

Two years on

This blog just turned 2! Here's a quick look back at all the stuff that has appeared so far.

Breaking Bad

In the style of René Magritte.

Stop the Cavalry Christmas Card

My big Christmas poster this year is based on 'Stop the Cavalry' by Jona Lewie in the style of a Victorian / Early 20th Century Christmas card.

Steve Jobs

It's very sad when any 56 year old person dies, but a light has gone out in the world with the death of Steve Jobs. He changed the way people interact with technology. I would never have been able to create the things I do, in the way I do, if it was not for Steve Jobs.

Movie Monday: The Adventures of Robin Hood

Errol Flynn as a woodcut. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) directed by Michael Curtiz & William Keighley.

Sleeping Dumbledore gif

I'm sorry for the lack of posts recently, I hope to get things back to normal soon!

A while ago I made this portrait of a sleeping Dumbledore. Since the last Harry Potter film is coming out soon (and I'm finally about to finish reading the books) I thought I'd make a gif...

Clarence Clemons

Rest in peace, Big Man.

Une Femme Sublime

Sufjan Stevens

Avec Day Glo and Wings.

Movie (Easter) Monday: King of Kings

Jeffrey Hunter as Jesus Christ in 'King of Kings' (1961) directed by Nicholas Ray.

At the time it was referred to as 'I was a teenage Jesus' due to Hunter's teen idol appearance. It's worth watching for Miklós Rózsa's fantastic score alone.

Caoimhe 'pon a Unicorn

You can't really see the full effect unless it's on an ipad, but they do sometimes look like stained glass. It's the backlight I guess. I'm sure Harry Clarke would love an ipad if he was around today.

Movie Monday: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir

Portrait of Rex Harrison as Captain Gregg in The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. It's a beautiful, spooky and romantic film.

The Eleven Doctors

Ben Folds

I saw Ben at Vicar Street again the other night. Fab.

Sleeping Dumbledore Portrait

Dumbledore having a snooze in his painting.

My Mother, aged 2

Window in the Mirror

Self Portrait

I was sick for all of Christmas (hold your tears please) so I thought I'd do a self portrait while I'm still gaunt and pale and have a beard.

This is also my first go with Brushes on the iPad. Mainly because I couldn't fit my gigantic head on the iPhone screen...
